Satellite Receiver
For satellites in low earth orbit, about 800 KM high, we use a crossed dipole and reflector antenna pointing upwards
to receive the circularly polarized radio data signal in the 137 MHz band.
This system is located in North West London and uses a computer controlled receiving system to decode and processes
the pictures.
These pictures are then automatically FTP'd to our Worthing Weather complex several times each day.
This equipment will be transferred to our Worthing site when it is fully developed in a few months time.
The results from this can be seen by clicking Satellite 2 on the left hand menu.
Eventually we will add geosynchronous satellite reception to the system also.
